Do you prefer to train on the Lumosity app? Good news — we’ve just added our 25th game to the mobile Games Library!

Over the past year, our Games team has made a big push to increase the number of games available on mobile apps, and we’re excited to reach this important milestone. We’re especially excited because the 25th game, Editor’s Choice, is the first word game on the Lumosity apps.

In Editor’s Choice, you can think of yourself as a newspaper editor. At the top of your notepad you’ll find one word, followed by a list of potential synonyms. For instance, you may be given the word “sensible,” followed by “innocent, reasonable, holy, divine, realistic.” Try to identify the synonyms for sensible in the list quickly — newsrooms are fast-paced and press time waits for no one! You’ll have to access your “mental thesaurus,” recalling sensible’s definition and determining the words that could replace sensible in the article you’re editing. (In case you’re wondering, reasonable and realistic are the correct choices in this example!)

Editor’s Choice challenges verbal fluency. Verbal fluency is your ability to quickly access your mental vocabulary and select the appropriate words for the context.

Put your vocabulary to the test and play Editor’s Choice today! You can download our free Lumosity app for iOS here and for Android here.

P.S. For those of you who prefer to play on your computer, Editor’s Choice is also currently available in beta on Lumosity.com for premium members. We hope to make Editor’s Choice available across Lumosity.com soon.
